What size construction dumpster should I order?

For most residential remodels, a 20-yard. For additions, new homes and multi-week framing or drywall phases, a 30-yard. For commercial construction and demolition with bulky material, a 40-yard. For concrete, brick, dirt or roofing, order a 15-yard: those loads are heavy, and the smaller box keeps you inside the weight allowance.

Can you swap containers on a schedule?

Yes. Tell us how fast the site fills and we will set a recurring swap, or you can call dispatch for a swap whenever a container is full. Contractors who run several sites can keep one dispatcher for all of them.

Reviews of our dispatch keep coming back to the same point: customers reach a live person, usually the same one each time, and replacement containers show up the next day.

What construction debris can go in the dumpster?

Lumber, drywall, framing scrap, flooring, cabinets, roofing shingles, siding, concrete, brick and general demolition debris. Keep hazardous materials out: paint and solvents, adhesives in liquid form, fuel, batteries and anything containing asbestos need separate handling.

Can construction debris be recycled?

A good share of it can. Metal, clean concrete and some wood can be separated and kept out of the landfill. If you keep scrap metal in its own container, we can route it to recycling through our metal recycling service.

Container sizes

Roll-off sizes we deliver

Every container is an open-top roll-off. Pick by the job; dispatch will confirm the size with you.

15yard

Size on request

Holds about 5 to 6 pickup-truck loads

  • Garage, attic or single-room cleanouts
  • Bathroom and small kitchen remodels
  • Concrete, dirt or roofing tear-off (heavy, low-volume loads)

20yard

22′ × 8′ × 4′

Holds about 6 to 8 pickup-truck loads

  • Kitchen or flooring remodels
  • Whole-room cleanouts
  • Roof replacements on an average home

30yard

22′ × 8′ × 5′

Holds about 9 to 12 pickup-truck loads

  • Additions and larger renovations
  • New home construction
  • Estate and whole-house cleanouts

40yard

22′ × 8′ × 6′

Holds about 12 to 16 pickup-truck loads

  • Commercial construction and demolition
  • Warehouse and retail cleanouts
  • Bulky, lightweight material in high volume

Dimensions are length × width × wall height. A cubic yard is a cube 3 feet on each side. Container size is volume, not weight; every container also has a weight allowance, and heavy material like concrete, dirt or roofing reaches it well before the container looks full. FAQ

Construction Dumpsters & Debris Removal questions

Do you work with commercial general contractors?

Yes. We serve builders, commercial GCs, remodelers and demolition crews, and we can keep containers on several sites at once under one account.

How long can I keep a construction dumpster?

As long as the job needs it. Call dispatch for the rental terms that fit your schedule, including ongoing swaps for long projects.

Can you place a dumpster on an active site with limited access?

Usually. A roll-off truck needs a long, straight approach and clear overhead space to set the container. Describe the drop spot to dispatch and we will tell you what fits.
