Each size

Which size fits your job?

15yard

Size on request

Holds about 5 to 6 pickup-truck loads

The 15-yard is the smallest container we run. It fits tight driveways and is the right choice for heavy material like concrete, dirt or shingles, where weight fills a container long before volume does.

  • Garage, attic or single-room cleanouts
  • Bathroom and small kitchen remodels
  • Concrete, dirt or roofing tear-off (heavy, low-volume loads)

20yard

22′ × 8′ × 4′

Holds about 6 to 8 pickup-truck loads

The 20-yard is the size most homeowners and small contractors order. It holds a full-room remodel or a mid-size cleanout and still fits in most residential driveways.

  • Kitchen or flooring remodels
  • Whole-room cleanouts
  • Roof replacements on an average home

30yard

22′ × 8′ × 5′

Holds about 9 to 12 pickup-truck loads

The 30-yard has the same footprint as the 20-yard with a foot more wall height. It suits larger renovations and new construction where debris builds up over several weeks.

  • Additions and larger renovations
  • New home construction
  • Estate and whole-house cleanouts

40yard

22′ × 8′ × 6′

Holds about 12 to 16 pickup-truck loads

The 40-yard is the largest open-top container we run. It is built for commercial jobsites and warehouse cleanouts with a lot of bulky, lighter material.

  • Commercial construction and demolition
  • Warehouse and retail cleanouts
  • Bulky, lightweight material in high volume

Dimensions are length × width × wall height. A cubic yard is a cube 3 feet on each side. Container size is volume, not weight; every container also has a weight allowance, and heavy material like concrete, dirt or roofing reaches it well before the container looks full. FAQ

Dumpster size questions

What is the most popular dumpster size?

The 20-yard. At 22 ft long, 8 ft wide and 4 ft high, it holds about 6 to 8 pickup-truck loads, which covers most kitchen, flooring and whole-room projects and still fits in a typical driveway.

How much does a 15-yard dumpster hold?

About 5 to 6 pickup-truck loads. The 15-yard is our smallest container, and it is the right choice for heavy debris like concrete, brick, dirt and roofing, where weight fills a container before volume does.

What is the difference between a 30 and a 40-yard dumpster?

Wall height. Both are 22 ft by 8 ft; the 30-yard has 5 ft walls and the 40-yard has 6 ft walls. The 40-yard adds roughly four more pickup loads of capacity for bulky, lighter material.

What happens if I pick a dumpster that is too small?

You will need a swap before the job is done, and overfilled containers cannot be hauled safely. If you are between two sizes, the larger one usually costs less than a second haul.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes, every size has a weight allowance, and heavy material reaches it before the container looks full. Tell dispatch what is going in and we will match the size to the weight. Call (817) 368-4210.
